What I Wore...

No, It's not Wednesday, but I thought I'd share anyway.  I hadn't shared any "What I Wore" posts in a while :) Plus, I bet y'all miss the potty pics :)

One day, I will buy a mirror for my bedroom, but for now, I use the guest bathroom and stand on the potty. I'll take what I've got!

The breakdown:  I wore this to church on Sunday. Our church is pretty casual.
Shirt: Old Navy this past season.  It's one of my favorites right now!  It's on sale, so buy it fast!!
Silver belt: I got this from Ann Taylor Loft a few years ago on clearance for $10.  It's similar to this one.
Flower: this is a Stella & Dot flower that I wear all the time.  I use it in my hair, on my belts, and on my shirts. It really adds a fun little pop to most of my outfits!  They don't have this flower anymore, but here are some similar ones.
Jeans:  I got these jeans from Gap for $17. I had a gift card, so it was guilt free shopping!  Similar to these.
Shoes:  Target suede wedges in gray.  This style, but I don't see this color online.  I've seen them in the stores though :)

The weather here in the South has stayed in the 60s for the past few weeks, which has been nice. But it does require me to be a little creative with my outfits. I hate thinking too long for what I have to wear. Oh well...I'll make the sacrifice for the spring like weather!  Oh! I almost forgot. Today is my birthday :) I am now 27!  Anyway, happy Monday to y'all. I am going to lunch with my mom to celebrate then the MR. is making me dinner tonight. I wonder what Smith will do to celebrate his momma??  ;)

First Dr.s Visit

I know, this is insanely overdue. I apologize.  No excuses here...just getting into a daily routine with the little man :)  We took baby Peele to the dr. the Friday after he was born (he was born on Tuesday the 25th).  He did great!  He had gone down from 6 lbs 8 oz. to 6 lbs 2 oz.  Not too bad.  He was already a tiny little peanut!  We went as a family, which was really special.

Look at that sweet little face :)

His second appointment went great.  He gained an entire pound in 1 week! Way to go baby boy!
I couldn't help but snap a few pics of him. He was smiling :)

Then he said, "Mom, stop taking pics of me!"
So I did :)

Now that we feel we have a little routine down (4 weeks and 5 days later) my blog posts will be a little more often.  Thanks for the patience everyone.  Becoming a mom is definitely a huge transition, but the best thing in the entire world :)

Oh and
P.S. Do you want to know his name?

Smith Peele :)

I met the First Lady!

That's right! Yesterday I met the First Lady! I usually don't like to discuss politics on my blog, but this is a special occasion.  MR.P's company was hosting the 1st year anniversary for the event Let's Move.  The Boosterthon team entertained everyone while they waited outside.  It was FREEZING!!!  I was outside for an hour and a half and my fingers and toes almost fell off ;)  The First Lady came to speak about childhood obesity and her passion about changing that through Let's Move.  I stood on stage behind her with some of the other Boosterthon team.  Once she was finished I got to shake her hand!  She was so personal and looked at each of us in the eyes.  She even held onto my arm for a while so she could shake other people's hands.

(I'm on the first row, second from the right in the pink!)

Here we are afterwards.  My friends Lyndie, Christina, Jessica, and myself. We had a blast. We were supposed to be still and not fidget, but I think we were all a little star struck ;)

On a different note...she was beautiful!  She wore a beautiful white suit and snake skin heals. Absolutely stunning.  It was such a cool experience and I felt so honored to be a part of it!

Back to normal

So today Baby Peele is 2 weeks old!  I realized that as I posted the last 2 times I forgot his info!  Baby Peele was 6 lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long.  He was TINY!!!  The babies in my family are usually more like 9 lbs so he is quite little.

MR.P and I cannot believe he is finally here. He was 2 weeks early.  And want to know something?  The 3.5 months that we have known about him, I just had this feeling he was coming on the 24th or the 25th.  I NEVER go off of feelings because that's just silly. But I was totally prepared for him to come 2 weeks early. Then once the 24th got here I totally forgot about my prediction :)  Good thing we were already packed and ready to go.  When I called MR.P to tell him our birth mother was in labor, he thought I said our friend Haley was in labor...who he already knew was in labor.  So I had to tell him again!!  I literally was screaming with joy as I told him the second time.  It was amazing :)  I thought we would be nervous but we weren't.  We didn't even go straight to the hospital when we got there.  The Dr. told us to go eat dinner since it was going to be a long night.  So we did. I was amazed how calm we were.

Once we got to the hospital we waited for a while. Then my parents got there.  It was so nice having my mom and dad there.  This is their first grandson on this earth. They have 9 granddaughters. Their second grandson is due in April. We are very excited!!  Matt's mom and his 2 sisters were also there!!  They were so great to have with us. Very special to share this with us :)

Anyway...moving on. We left the hospital on Wednesday night around 5:00.  Took about 3.5 hours to get home.  Thank goodness we didn't get in any traffic!  Once we got home we walked in and our entire house was decorated with boy decor!  Our mailbox had balloons and a welcome home sign and everything!  It was incredibly special!!  Then about 2 seconds after we walked in my mom, dad, and my sister Dani walked in!!  They were hiding around the corner from the house to surprise us. It was so special!!

Being a mom is great! We are definitely a little tired, but this is what I was born to do!!  I am so thankful that God has blessed us! This has stretched my faith in so many ways. I cannot even describe it!  I could never have dreamed this up. While we were struggling with infertility people always said, just wait. God has something so much bigger for y'all. It was tough to believe them at the time, but now I know. I cannot believe he is here!!

Ok, so now for the best part!!  My friend Jenn is an amazing photographer!!  She came over on Sunday and took the BEST pictures ever!!

Precious baby boy did great during the photos!  Jenn is such a pro. She brought a heated blanket and a noise maker. It made such a difference. He stayed asleep the entire time.

While Jenn was moving him into different positions he would get upset.  Once she started "shhhh" in his ear he would stop and let her do whatever.  She knows what she's doing!  By the way, this one is my favorite :)

This hat was huge on him, but we made it work. I could just kiss his face ALL day long!

This last one is for MR.P.  We used clips in the back of the hat to make it fit him better. SOO cute!!

If you are interested in having Jenn take some photos for you please email her and she can work out the details with you.

Baby Peele

Ok, so he is here!  We've had him in our arms for 11 wonderful days! He is absolutely precious and can't imagine life without him!

Here's the story :) On Monday, January 24th I was on my lunch break. I went grocery shopping because we needed a few things. I wasn't having a great day so I was talking with my friend Katie.  I drove back to work and was sitting in the parking lot chatting until I needed to go back in.  That's when I got the call.  I quickly called Matt and an hour later we were packed and in the car on our way.  He was born on the 25th at 1:19 am. He is absolutely precious :)

We saw him about 10 seconds after he was born.  If you can't tell...we were exhausted!

Sweet baby boy was opening his eyes and raising his head on day one!

Already loves sitting watching tv with his dad :)
