How much?

Good morning sweet friends.  I hope your weekend was lovely.  MR.P and I had a great weekend.  Friday night was spent celebrating my niece's 1st Birthday!!  She is my 8th niece.  No nephews, just nieces.  I don't mind one bit.  They are all absolutely precious!

She is oh so cute!!
She really tore into her cupcake!  Happy Birthday Lizzie!

On Saturday we went to celebrate my sister-in-law's 28th bday.
MR.P and I on the way!  I hate that most of our pics are like this.  I need a little 3rd wheel to take our pics for us :)

I can't believe I don't have any pics of her bday party.  What a bad sister I am!  Want to send me one Christine?  Anyway, we love you a lot and are really thankful to be a part of your life!

After celebrating Christine's bday we headed to Stone Mountain with Matt's work team.  They also happen to be great friends that we love!  We were about to drive into the park and the bottom dropped out and it started pooring rain :(  We had checked the weather about a million times and it showed 0% chance of rain.  Yeah, right.  Way to go weather team!  We ended up going bowling instead!  It was a blast.  This was after getting soaking wet in the rain.  It was quite fun though!  I actually have a video of me bowling that I'll see if I can upload later on :) We played "Money Ball".  It's where you can yell money ball before you bowl.  If you bowl a strike then you win a $10 itunes giftcard!  When I did mine I almost got a strike.  Sad day, but oh so fun!!  Once I get the video from MR.P I'll upload it!

In the meantime, here is just a pic!
Thankfully we had our rain jackets!

As I read blogs and enjoy each post, I was wondering what my readers enjoy coming from my blog?  I enjoy giving a little personal along with some fun money saving projects.  What would y'all like to see more of?  Do you need tutorials from my projects?  More personal posts?

"Trust Me" from the Devotional "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young

Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young

Trust me, and don't be afraid.  I want you to view trials as exercises designed to develop your trust-muscles.  You live in the midst of fierce spiritual battles, and fear is one of Satan's favorite weapons.  When you start to feel afraid, affirm your trust in Me.  Speak out loud, if circumstances permit.  Resist the devil in my name, and he will slink away from you.  Refresh yourself in My Holy Presence.  Speak or sing praises to Me, and My Face will shine radiantly upon you.

Remember that there is no condemnation for those who belong to Me.  You have been judged NOT GUILTY for all eternity.  Trust me, and don't be afraid; for I am your Strength, Song, and Salvation.

James 4:7; Romans 8:1-2; Isaiah 12:2

Chandelier Reveal

I saw this chandelier on a blog the other day.  Sadly I forgot which blog :(
I immediately wanted to try the twine.  The sticks look really cool, but just don't fit our style.

Here is the before shot.  It used to be gold, but I spray painted it about 4 months ago.  I just never shared it because it still wasn't quite right.

I wasn't a huge fan of the shades, but I couldn't figure out what to do until I saw the inspiration pic above!

Here it is all done.  I took this picture with my iphone, so sorry you can't see it very well.

And one with the lights on.  I definitely like it now!  It has the look I was going for now.  And I already had twine so this project was free for me!  If you want to try this at home then you can get twine from Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Wal-mart, etc.  I actually got mine about a year ago from Target in the $1 section.  Twine is usually around $5 for a large amount.

This project took more twine than I thought it would.  Here's how to do it.

Most chandaliers should be able to come apart.  The thin part that I wrapped with twine came off, so that made things easy.  I used a hot glue gun to get things started at the bottom, then wrapped a few times around.  I added glue here and then until I reached the top.  Once I was at the top, I put the glue on top of the twine so that I covered every inch of the chandalier.  I think things came out well.  I like the look and am excited about it!

As you can see, my drapes for my dining room are pretty dark.  I decided on these before I realized my style and colors for our house.  The colors of our house are much lighter, so I am not as big of a fan of these anymore :(  For now they are great, but eventually I would love to use this fabric to make some more.

I'd love to add light teal in the mix.  This photo gives me some inspiration for the dining room.

Even though this is for a bedroom, I love this color scheme.

Anyway, I had fun doing this project.  It's so fun to make something you have just a little bit better without spending any money.  This is why I have started a box full of left over project stuff.  That way I can use what I have to spruce the place up when inspiration hits!

This weekend was great.  Friday night MR.P and I just hung out together.  We woke up around 9 and had a leisurely morning together before we went our seperate ways.  I went to hang out with my sweet friend Joy.

We ate lunch then set out to find her some new jeans.  We definitely had success at T.J. Maxx @ Perimeter Mall.  They have a great selection of Seven for all mankind and Joe jeans.  She left with Sevens in the Dojo style.  The pockets had a little threading that was messed up.  She asked for a discount and they gave it to her!  Score for Joy :)  We then headed to Ikea for a little inspiration shopping.  Neither of us bought anything, but it was still fun :)  We definitely didn't mean to coordinate our clothes either.  Somehow we do that a lot.  We have the same style, so it happens pretty frequently!  Loved getting to spend some time with Joy!

MR.P went to hang out with our good friend Brent.
They hung out and watched the Braves game.  Pretty much MR.P's favorite thing to do!

We had a great weekend and are ready for a busy week ahead!  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

What I wore!

I decided I really like the what I wore Wednesdays over @ The Pleated Poppy.  But I forgot to take pics every day.  I managed 2 days so that's what I'm going to post.

Wednesday:

and with the jacket tied in front.

Ruffle Jacket - J.Crew outlet - 60% off ( I never pay full price for any clothes)
Navy t-shirt - J.Crew outlet - $5
Skirt - Target
Watch - Target (love it!)
Shoes - Tori Burch...my friend Savannah pretty much just gave them to me because they didn't fit her ;)  Lucky me!

I really like each of these items because I can mix and match with other things.  Everything can carry into the fall as well.  I like for my clothes to work for me and not limit me to seasons!

Friday:
(You look tired Beth.  Get some sleep!!)

Jacket - Gap outlet for $8.  (had been eyeing this since last season and finally found one at the right price!)
Green tank top - Gap outlet - $5 (it's not fitted and has a little pocket on the left hand side.  LOVE non fitted things!)
Jeans - Seven A-pocket Jeans - my friend Jenn gave them to me!  They just happen to fit perfectly :)
Watch - Target
Shoes - Target.  They are a little wedge so perfect for work!
Nail polish - just in case you are wondering, this is the nail polish I won from this giveaway!  I really like it.  It will be perfect for fall!  I don't normally wear nail polish on my fingers, but this one I liked too much not to try!

So remember when I posted about hairstyles that help me not to go chop it off??  Yeah, they didn't help.  I chopped it off if you can't tell ;)
Anway, I am happy for the weekend to be here!  I am hanging out with one of my absolutely precious friends, Joy!
We've been friends since 7th grade.  Although, we met in 2nd ;)  We are having lunch, then heading to Ikea for the day.  I can't wait!

Office Update

Happy Wednesday to you!  I have gotten a few things done in the office so I thought I would update you!  I had a few random frames laying around, but I could NOT do anything with them.  I wanted our wall arrangement of frames to be a little random, but have an element of uniform.  And the frames I had were not giving the affect I was going for.  Well Saturday night some friends of ours gave me a ton of frames for free that worked perfectly for this space!

It was honestly really tough getting the affect I was going for.  I tried putting paper on the wall like I mentioned in my post the other day, but it really didn't work for me.  So I just played around with things and eventually settled on this one.  I didn't put any pictures in the frames because that part is easy.  I'll figure that out later ;)
(P.S. my sister painted the picture of the arch.  I LOVE it!)

I wanted the arrangement to have a few things that really made the arrangement ours.

I made this the other night with stuff I had left over from a baby gift.  I like how it turned out!  Why is it that I love anything with book pages??  Anyhow, its a cheap way to really add something fun to a room.  Here is a great tutorial

I didn't want the tie backs from my drapes to go to waste so I nailed it to the back of this frame.  It's a sturdy frame because the wood didn't even split!  Exactly how I wanted it.  The knob is from some window hardware that didn't fit on our wall.

Here is the look of the room now.

I think I like how it's coming together.  Not sure yet though ;)
Here's another view.

Those pillows are getting covers for them.  Excited to see how that brings the room together!

So 2/3 of the room is done.  What's left you ask?  Well this wall of fun!
I plan on doing the dry erase boards here.  I taped it out a little bit just to see the visual.  I hope it turns out!  I'd love to do some writing above the boards.  MR.P and I have 4 family values and we'll probably do that up there.  I think that will help bring the black in a little bit more.  I will be using the "decal" technique for the wording.  All you do is print out the words you want in the right size.  Take a pencil and scribble on the back all over.  Then put the paper in the spot you'd like the "decal" to go and trace on top of the letters.  It will automatically transfer onto your wall!  Easy as that!  Not sure what font I'll use, but I am excited to see it all come together.

What do y'all think?  Is the arrangement of frames ok?  Does it need a few more things?  Some color?  I was thinking about adding a green frame or something, but I just wasn't sure!  I'd love to hear some feedback on what this room needs!

Friday the 13th

Ok, so I really don't believe in superstitions, but Happy Friday the 13th!  The reason for my post today is that MR.P and I were married on Friday the 13th (July of 2007).  We got engaged in December of 2006 and a lot of other people at our church were engaged around then too, so the slots at our church filled up very quickly.  The only date available was Friday, July 13th.  Funny thing was, we didn't even realize it until later!  It didn't phase us though.  We thought it would be a great story to tell later.

Anyway, I have shared some wedding pics, but never shared honeymoon pics.  Thought I would share some!  We went to Jamaica and had a VERY relaxing time!  Didn't do a single thing ;)

It was a wonderful, relaxing time.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  I know this was over 3 years ago, but I feel like it was yesterday.  Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend!!

Frames for the Office

I have some random frames that I have never really found a home for.  This always annoyed me a little, but I gave up and put them in a box labled random home decor.  Well, the other day as I was working on our home office I decided that I wanted to use those frames since I wouldn't have to buy any...at least I hope.  I began searching for frame arrangements to help me figure out the right one for the office.

I had seen this idea once before, but had forgotten about doing this.
It's tough to figure out the right arrangement so I think this is a smart move.  Trace all your frames onto paper then place on the wall.  That way you can move around until you find the right arrangement without putting 100 holes in your wall ;)

Here are a few pictures I found for inspiration.

(unsure where I found this)

WOW! LOVE the look of that!! Looks like a family tree. What a cool way to display it!

Love the idea of using a mirror.

Love the circle frames :)  They make me happy!

Lastly, this has been an all time favorite of mine. Not sure where it came from though. I am going to use pictures in mine, but this is still a great idea!

I started arranging my frames on the floor yesterday, but haven't found the right one.  I'll start the paper idea soon so I can really get the right arragement.  I am headed to Ikea next weekend.  I might have to get a few of their cheap frames to give it a finished look :)

I am definitely incorporating this idea into the arrangement.

I have an extra knob that I am not using.  I wasn't sure what type of ribbon I would use until this morning.  I realized I wasn't using the tie backs from my drapes.  I can just use that!!  Hopefully it will look good and help tie things together :)

I'll try to take some pics to keep y'all in the loop!  Happy Thursday!

EDIT:  I found one more frame arrangement that is very inspiring.
